St. John Lutheran School, founded in 1884,  is owned and operated by St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, Nebraska. St. John Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod and part of the Nebraska District.

St. John Lutheran School is an integral part of the ministry of St. John Lutheran Church. The purpose of the school is to assist St. John Lutheran Church in carrying out its mission and ministry in that it provides a Christian education whereby students may find identity, purpose, and power for their life in Christ by living in grace and in the knowledge of Him as their Lord and Savior.
In this Christian education program, St. John Lutheran School will educate the whole child by
providing experiences for each child to grow spiritually, aesthetically, emotionally, intellectually,
physically and socially.
