Food Accessibility

Friday, March 20th, 2020

Accessibility to food is essential especially during this time when many cannot go out due to COVID-19.

St. John will continue to provide the following:

  •  Christ’s Cupboard remains open its normal days/hours.  (Monday – 3-5 pm, Thursday – 6-8 pm and Saturday 9-11 am.  Beginning Monday March 23, we will temporarily suspend “client-choice”.  Those needing food should knock on the pantry door and volunteers will bring out pre-bagged sacks of groceries.
  •  Lincoln Food Bank Mobile Pantry continues to come to St. John the 4th Tuesday of the month.  Truck will arrive at 4:30 in St. John’s parking lot.  Pre-bagged sacks of food will be distributed to those in need.
  • “Feed My Sheep” meals prepared by St. John’s Board of Human Care are available.  Call the church office 643-2983 or Laurie Sherman 643-0502 if a delivered meal is needed.

If you have donations for Christ’s Cupboard, please place them in the west entrance during the hours of 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday.

(5-14-20) Currently the most needed pantry items are:  canned tuna, canned chicken, canned fruit, pasta and rice side dishes and toilet paper.

Many thanks to our volunteers who continue to make these services available.
