CDC PROGRAMS
The St. John Child Development Center preschool programs provide a caring, play-based environment that focuses on the child’s total development. Our highly trained teachers provide many age-appropriate activities that focus on self-help skills and are aligned with Nebraska’s Early Learning Guidelines. Above all, the children learn about Jesus and how to live as Jesus’ child throughout every day!
Preschool Program for Toddlers (ages 18 months – 3 years)
The toddler program is for children 18 months – 2 1/2 years. In the toddler classrooms, the students spend the morning learning how toddlers learn best – by playing! The toddler teachers plan activities that foster social interactions, language, literacy, number exploration, creative arts, good health practices (especially with bathroom time) – and they make it look so fun! Our littlest ones also hear about the love of Jesus everyday. Breakfast, snacks, lunch and nap are also important parts of our day as they students learn, grow, and develop.
Preschool Program for 3’s & 4's
No longer toddlers but not quite older preschoolers, the 3’s and 4’s have a special place. The classroom teachers work together to help children learn independence, explore God’s world through touch and language, and guide each child to become the best they can be! Both 1/2 day and full day options are available.
Preschool Program for 4’s & 5's
When you walk into the 4's and 5's classrooms, you will see young children learning the way they do best – through play. The rooms are intentionally set up with learning centers that provide inviting, engaging ways for children to explore God’s world in an interactive way as they prepare for the next stage of their education, Kindergarten. Both 1/2 day and full day options are available. Students aging out of the 4's and 5's room have priority re-enrollment status for St. John Kindergarten.
School-age Before and After School Programs
The CDC school-age program is a vital part of the ministry at St. John. The CDC is blessed to be able to care for school-age children in a before-and-after school program providing supervision and structure for families in need of extended care.
