During our last tornado warning it became apparent that we need to make a recommendation to establish a shared understanding of good safety practices. We want to be sure that we continually model this for our children too!
At their April meeting the Child Development Center Board approved to add the following to the Parent Handbook:
The Child Development Center practices regular fire and tornado drills. In the event of a real severe weather evacuation to the basement we strongly encourage parents who may be arriving at the Center to stay with their child in the basement until the warning has expired.
